Ingredients
- 3 pounds apples, peeled and sliced very thin(about 10 small to medium apples)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, optional
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup melted butter
Preparation
Step 1
Butter a 10-inch pie pan or fluted tart or quiche pan. Fill with thinly sliced apples. Sprinkle with mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and the cinnamon. Mix the flour, sugar, salt and nuts. Stir in beaten egg and melted butter. Pour this batter over apples.
Bake at 350F for 45 minutes or until done. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
This does not have a crust; it is more of a macaroon-like dessert than it is like a pie.
