Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup tightly packed brown sugar
- Pinch salt
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk (or heavy cream)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/4 cup butter
Preparation
Step 1
In saucepan, combine 1/4 cup butter, brown sugar, salt and milk. Stir over medium heat until blended, bring to boil. Let simmer without stirring for 5 minutes. Let cool until thick (either in refrigerator or over ice) In small mixing bowl, combine sugar, vanilla and lemon juice. Add cooled boiled mixture. Add 1/4 cup butter, 1 tbsp. at a time. Beat until it is of spreading consistency.
