Beef and Vegetable Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup each chopped celery, and carrots
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (19 oz) red Kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 TBsp chili powder
  • 1 TBsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Cook beef, add onions, garlic, celery, carrots and green pepper. cook 3 to 5 minutes
Add tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, lemon juice, cumin and hot pepper flakes. Cover and simmer for 10 min. Add water if too thick
