Muellers Macaroni & Cheese

  • 2 tablespoons margerine or butter
  • 1/4 cup sifted flour or Wondra
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 3/4 cup dry macaroni
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta for 6 minutes and drain.

Melt butter, stir in flour, salt, mustard, and pepper; stir until smoooth and remove from heat.

Gradually stir in the milk.

Return to heat and cook for 10 minutes until thickened.

Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese.

Put the macaroni into a greased 2 quart casserole and pour the cheese mixture over all.

Mix 1/2 cup cheese with the bread crumbs and sprinkle the mixture over the top of the casserole.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
