Chili - Shelley's New Favorite

Ingredients

  • 3 T olive oil
  • 3 T chili powder (divided)
  • 2 16 oz cans black beans, drained
  • 1 16 oz cans chili beans
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 16 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 onions diced

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat the olive oil
2. Bloom the chili powder by sauteeing 2 tbsp for 1 minute
3. Sautee the onions for 3 minutes.
4. Add the meat and saute for 4 minutes or cooked.
5. Add the beans
6. Add the tomato sauce
7. Add the diced tomatoes
8. Add the remaining spices (chili powder, salt, garlic powder).
9. Cook over low for 2 to 3 hours.
