  • 2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Step 1

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 10 cup bunt pan. Beat the butter with an electric mixer until smooth, light and fluffy, 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one. Add vanilla and continue to beat 3 minutes. Turn mixer to low; add flour and mix just until combined. Transfer batter to prepared pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 65 to 75 minutes. Cool in pan 5 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack. Cool before serving.
