- 1-1/2 # carrots, sliced
- bechamel sauce (Ragu)
- salt & pepper
- 3/4 c.parmesan
- 1/4 c. bread crumbs
- 1/4 # bacon, cubed and cooked till crisp
- bay leaf

Step 1
preheat oven to 375. arrange a single layer of carrots in buttered gratin dish. pour enough bechamel sauce to cover them. sprinkle with salt and pepper, bay leaf and a fourth of the parmesan. sprinkle the gratin with bread crumbs, parmesan and bacon. bake for 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours. slide gratin under the broiler to brown before serving.
