  • 1 1/4 teaspoons of yeast
  • 3 tablespoons of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2/3 cups of warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water



Step 1

mix yeast, water,and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Let stand for 15 minutes.

Dissolve 2 teaspoons of sugar and the salt in the warm milk. Add to flour.

add the yeast and oil. Mix well and let raise until double. Deflate and let

raise again. Roll butter into a rectangle and place at one end of rolled

dough. Fold dough in to thirds and roll flat. Put in plastic bag in the

refridge. Let sit two hours and roll out again and fold into thirds. Chill

again. Do this four more times. Roll flat and cut into triangles. Roll

triangles from large end and let raise until fluffy. Mix egg and water to

make an egg wash. Bake at 475 degrees for about 15 minutes.
