Ingredients
- 1 18.25 ounce Strawberry Cake Mix
- 1 3.4 ounce box of Jello Strawberry Creme Pudding Mix
- 3 large eggs
- 8 ounces of sour cream
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
Preparation
Step 1
Thoroughly mix all ingredients together.
Bake at 325° for about 30-35 minutes (longer, depending on pan size), until the cake springs back when touched. Cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then turn out on a cooling rack and cool completely before frosting.
This is actually super easy, and can be round layers, or a 9x13.
Super Simple Strawberry Buttercream:
1 cup butter, at room temperature (2 sticks)
1 cup vegetable shortening (8 ounces by weight)
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 pounds confectioner's sugar (8 cups)
6 tablespoons of Nesquik Strawberry Syrup
1-2 tablespoons of milk (or more as needed)
Cream together the butter and shortening until smooth.
Add vanilla and mix.
Slowly add in the confectioner's sugar.
When it starts to get thick or hard to mix, go ahead and mix in the strawberry syrup and milk.
If it's still too thick for spreading or decorating, add more milk as needed to reach the desired consistency.
