Ingredients
- 1 tbsp dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 tsp salt (optional)
- 3 cups flour (less)
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast with warm water and sugar. Cover; let rise for ten minutes. Warm the milk and add salt. Mix milk mixture with yeast. Pour liquid ingredients with 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda and mix until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to make a stiff batter. Dough will be sticky. Bake 25 - 30 minutes in preheated 400° oven. (bake less if no tin foil at bottom of oven)
