Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 # potatoes (peeled, cooked and mashed)
  • milk and butter, for mashed potatoes
  • 1 # ground beef
  • 3/4 cup onion, diced
  • 2-3 carrots (1 1/2 cups), farmers cut
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 15 oz. brown gravy

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

Cook potatoes and make them into mashed potatoes.

Brown ground beef with onion. When finished place into 2.5 qt casserole dish.
Boil carrots until semi-soft (when halfway done put peas in pan with carrots), drain and place in casserole dish.
Mix brown gravy with beef and carrot mixture, mix well.
Top with mashed potatoes sealing edges.

Bake at 350 for 45 min. until top is starting to brown.
Allow to rest for 10 min. before serving.
