Tomato and Sausage Pasta

Ingredients

  • 8 oz uncooked penne pasta
  • 8 oz sweet Italian sausage
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 sm onion sliced
  • 5 cloves minced garlic
  • 4 meduim tomatoes, chopped
  • 6 Tbls grated Romano cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 12 leaves torn fresh basil

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Removed casings from sausage. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat. Add sausage and onion to pan; cook 4 minutes, stirring to crumble sausage. Add garlic; cook 2 minutes. Stir in tomatoes; cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in pasta, 2 Tbls cheese, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and basil.
