Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 ML) macaroni
- 2 tbsp (30 ML) flour
- 1/8 tsp (i ML) pepper
- 1/2 tsp (2 ML) salt
- Parsley for garnish, optional
- 2 cups (500 ML) grated old cheddar cheese
- 2 cups (500 ML) milk
- 2 tbsp (30 ML) butter or margarine

Step 1
Cook macaroni in large amount of boiling salted water until tender, drain well.
Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat, blend in flour until smooth Gradually add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce comes to a boil. Remove from heat and add cheese, pepper, and salt. Stir until cheese melts.
Combine sauce and macaroni Spoon into two-quart (2 L) casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350 F (ISO c) for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbling. Garnish with parsley, if desired. Makes four servings.
