  • Cooking oil
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced

Step 1

Slice cabbage and place in a pot to boil, slice up 4 medium potatoes and add these to '
the cabbage and add 1/2 tsp salt, cook them until they are soft. When the cabbage
and potatoes are soft, pour off the liquid tnt do not discard the liquid keep it to
us ft later in recfcipe Mash the cabbage and potatoes and set aside. In a sauce pan
add some oil and when heated add 4 tbsp flour to make a rue and let it get golden
brown. Add some of the kept over liquid to make a watery rue and then add this to
the cabbage and potatoes. Add more of the kept liquid to mix in so that the cabbage
becomes smooth and soft. Let it boil for 1 or 2 minutes stirring constantly.
Serve with cooked smoked ham or any other type meat you prefer.
