Wacky Wonton Soup

Ali's soup calls for peas, which Heather will not eat. We substitute celery or water chestnuts instead.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 gloves garlic, minced
- 1 pkg (32oz) chicken broth
- 12 frozen wonton or frozen dumpling
- 1 cup snow peas, halved crosswise
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 cup shredded fresh spinach
Preparation
Step 1
In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic, cook 30 seconds. Stir in broth and bring to a boil over high heat. Gradually add wontons. Return to a boil; reduce heat and let simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
Stir in peas, green onions, soy sauce and ginger. Let simmer, uncovered 5 more minutes. Stir in spinach just before serving.
