Hot Crab Dip

By

This is a recipe that I've made for MANY years ~ one of the appetizers that I made for the huge Christmas parties. You'll probably need to double it and PLEASE use REAL CRAB! (any leftover dip is good on English muffins later, or even over a baked potato for a light dinner)

  • 4

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 4-6 about 4-6 oz. FRESH crabmeat (or 1 can) ~ don’t use “fake”
  • 2 TB onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp horseradish
  • 1 TB milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • dash of cayenne
  • 1 TB minced parsley
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 TB sherry or brandy (optional, but better with it)
  • sliced almonds
  • Crackers or melba toast

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients (except almonds & crackers) in small casserole dish and sprinkle almonds on top. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until it bubbles. Serve hot with crackers (Triscuits are especially good).

This doesn’t make a huge amount, and I usually double the recipe
