Ingredients
- Crust:
- Note: All ingredients should be at room temperature before using
- 1-1/2 lbs cream cheese, softened (3 8-oz packages)
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 large egg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup flour
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 5 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped (batter)
- 8-10 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped (topping)
- 1-1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs (about 25 cookies, finely crushed)
- 2 TB melted butter
- …. Mix melted butter with crumbs and press in bottom of greased/sprayed 9” springform pan and 1-1/2” up the sides ~ set aside
Preparation
Step 1
Beat cream cheese on electric mixer until fluffy; slowly add sugar and continue beating until well mixed. Add eggs, one at a time and continue to beat until blended. Put vanilla, salt & flour into cream cheese/egg mixture and beat until smooth ~ add sour cream and beat well. Stir in 5 Oreo cookie crumbs with a spoon. Pour cream cheese mixture into prepared crust in pan and sprinkle 8-10 coarsely chopped Oreos on top. Place pan on top rack, in middle of preheated 325 oven ~ Bake 1 hour and 15 min. After done baking, turn off heat & leave oven door open with cheesecake inside for 1 hour. Remove cake, cool & refrigerate.
