Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups SUGAR
- 1/3 Cup WATER
- 1/4 Teaspoon CREAM of TARTER
- 1 7-Ounce Jar MARSHMALLOE CREAM
- 1 Teaspoon VANILLA
- 1 Cup NUTS
Preparation
Step 1
Place SUGAR, WATER & CREAM OF TARTAR in heavy 1 quart sauce pan.
Do not stir.
Boil until candy reach 248°
Slowly add hot SUGAR SYRUP TO MARSHMALLOW CREAM in 1 ½ quart bowl.
Add VANILLA.
Continue mixing at lowest speed (approximately 5 minutes) and hold shape when dropped from spoon*
Stir in NUTS.
Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper.
*This is a critical point in recipe. If mixture is underbeaten, it will not hold shape. If overbeaten it will be dry.
