Makes its Own Gravy Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2-3 Lbs chicken pieces, excess fat removed
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 Cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 Cup flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Brown chicken on all sides in oil, in a large skillet over medium heat
Put chicken in a 9x13" or 10x12" baking pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray
Do not allow overlap pieces
Do not add juice from skillet to baking pan
Shake broth and flour together in a large jar, or mix well until smooth
Salt and pepper chicken to taste
Pour broth over chicken, cover and bake at 300 for 2 hours
Chicken will be tender and make its own gravy
Place chicken in a covered pan to keep warm until ready to serve
Pour gravy into gravy boat
Use gravy on mashed potatoes and chicken
