Oatmeal, Baked Apple

This is a great winter breakfast, chewy, cinnamony and nutty. Slightly modified. This can be in the oven as you are getting dressed for work or school

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups Old-fashioned Oats
  • 1/3 cup Raisins
  • 2 cups 2% Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Brown or Turbinado Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Medium Apple, chopped, about 2 cups
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350°F. In a 1-1/2-quart casserole, mix oats, raisins, 4 cups milk, the brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, salt and apples.

2. Bake uncovered 40 to 45 minutes or until most liquid is absorbed. Top with walnuts. Serve with additional milk.
