Blueberry/Apple Pie Recipe!

Ingredients

  • Pie Crust
  • The recipe makes a 10 inch wide pie
  • Chris makes a lattice crust, but it could be a double crust
  • 2 cups flour - she likes unbleached all purpose
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5-7 T cold water
  • Mix flour shortening and salt together with your fingers until crumbly
  • Add water a little at a time so it all comes together
  • Divide in 2 and roll out
  • If you want a little more flaky crust, add a little more shortening and less water
  • Blueberry Filling
  • 1 qt of blueberry pie filling or 2 cans of your favorite filling
  • 4 med apples sliced thin 2-21/2 cups
  • 3 T sugar
  • 1 heaping T flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Mix apples sugar flour and cinnamon together

Fold in pie filling

Fill 10 inch wide pie shell

Bake 375 for 45 to 55 min depending on your oven- it's usually done when it is bubbling on edges and is a nice golden brown.
