Ingredients

  • 4 T butter
  • 1/2 minced shallot
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 bunches of asparagus
  • Season with pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Peel the bottoms of 2 bunches of asparagus, snap off the ends, discard. Cook in a steamer basket, set in a pot of simmering water, covered, until tender. About 3-5 minutes. Melt 1 T of butter in a saucepan over medium heat, ad 1/2 minced shallot and cook until soft. Remover from the heat and whisk in 3 T of diced cold butter, add 2 tsp soy sauce. Pour over asparagus and season with pepper.
