Hearty Chicken and Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 1 large size oven bag (14" x 20")
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp. dried basil leaves, divided
  • 3 medium carrots, cut into 1" pieces
  • 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 large potato, cut into 1/2" cubes
  • 4 chicken breasts, bone in, skinned removed
  • seasoned salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Shake flour in oven bag; place in 13" x 9" baking pan.

Add onion soup mix, water and 1/2 tsp. basil to bag. Squeeze bag to blend in flour. Add carrots, celery and potato to bag. Turn bag to coat ingredients with sauce. Sprinkle chicken with seasoned salt and remaining basil. Arrange chicken in an even layer in bag with vegetables around chicken.

Close bag with nylon tie; cut 6 half inch slits in top.

Bake until chicken is tend, about 50 minutes.
