Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 large can tomatoes, (28 oz.)

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onions, green pepper, and garlic in oil until tender. Remove. Brown sausage and ground beef in same pan. Drain off excess fat. Return onions, pepper and garlic to pan. Add tomatoes, salt, oregano, sugar and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 2 hours. Prepare spaghetti. Drain. Toss with butter.
