Ingredients
- 2 2 2 small onions, chopped
- 2 2 2 stalks celery, diced
- 2 2 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 1 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 1/4 1/4
- teaspoon teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 1/2 1/2
- teaspoon teaspoon basil
- 1/4 1/4 1/4
- teaspoon teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 1/4 1/4
- teaspoon teaspoon sage
- 2 2 2 tablespoons dry parsley flakes
- 1 1 package 1 (10-ounce) package frozen peas
- 3 3 3 pounds whole broiler/fryer chicken
- 2 1/2 2 1/2 2 1/2
- cups cups water
- 1/3 1/3 1/3
- cup cup raw converted rice
Preparation
Step 1
Place all ingredients in slow cooker except rice in order listed. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours (high 4 to 6 hours). One hour before serving, remove chicken and cool slightly. Remove meat from bones and return to slow cooker. Add rice. Cover and cook the additional hour on high.
