Foolproof Long-Grain White Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine water, rice and salt and bring to a boil. Stir once, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender, 18 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
