Richmond Chocolate Frosting

This is not your ordinary frosting, it is thick and glossy. Sort of like a spreadable ganache. Just wonderful on your favorite chocolate cake.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 teaspoons vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar and cornstarch, add chocolate and salt. Stir chocolate mixture into boiling water and cook until mixture thickens.

Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla.

Spread on cake while frosting is still warm.
