Just one bean makes enough extract to flavor dozens of batches of cookies, custards and cakes. And nothing could be easier to make!

Ingredients

  • 3 vanilla beans
  • 1/2 cup brandy

Preparation

Step 1

Cut each vanilla bean lengthwise into fourths. Place in glass bottle or jar with tight fitting cover. Pour brandy over beans. Let age 2 to 4 months to develop natural flavor of the fresh vanilla beans. Remove beans.
