The Best Pumpkin Pie

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • dash nutmeg
  • pinch salt
  • 1 can good quality pumpkin
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 9 " pâte brisée or good quality pie crust



Step 1

preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Roll pie crust into pie plate.

In a large bowl, mix sugar, spices and salt. Add pumpkin, eggs, and vanilla, stir to combine. Add half and half and whisk until thoroughly combined. Pour mixture into crust.

Bake for 20 minutes. Reduce temperature to 275, bake for 1 hour. Pie is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
