Ingredients
- 8 C water
- 1 tablespoon & 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 pounds whole chicken
- 4 2/3 C chicken broth (from cooked chicken)
- 1 1/3 C white rice
- smoked sausage
- Italian style seasoning
- 3 cubes chicken bouillon

Preparation
Step 1
Water, salt, & chicken in large pot. Bring to a boil, cook until chicken is tender, approx. 1 hour.
Debone chicken.
Skim off fat from chicken broth and keep 4 cups in large pot. Add rice, chicken pieces, sausage, seasoning, & bouillon to pot. Cook 30 minutes, allowing it to boil and then simmer, keeping pan covered. Cook further for desired consistency if needed.
