Ingredients

  • 1 c. uncooked long grain rice
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 pkg. dry chicken noodle soup mix
  • 2 Tbs. minced fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet cook rice, celery and onion in butter, stirring constantly, until rice is browned.
Stir in the next six ingredients; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let stand, covered for 10 minutes.
