Steamed Clams w/ Shrimp

  • 6 dozen clams
  • shrimp (as per # of people)
  • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 lg onion
  • 1 C white wine
  • 2 C clam juice plus one small can clams
  • chopped parsley
  • salt and red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 C melted butter (1 stick)
  • diced tomato flesh



Step 1

Scrub clams. Clean shrimp. Heat oil in large saucepan (w/ a cover) over med heat and cook garlic and onion til translucent. Add tomatoes. . Add wine, cook a couple of minutes. Add clams, shrimp and clam juice. Cover and cook for 10 mins til clams open. Discard any clams that don't open. Season the juices in pan w/ salt and pepper flakes. Pour sauce and melted butter over clams and shrimp
