Snap, Crackle and Pop Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies or similar dry cereal
  • 2 cups rolled oats (quick or old-fashioned)
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together shortening, sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend flour, baking soda and salt; mix into creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients and stir until evenly distributed.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased or parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 18 to 20 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Transfer to racks and let cool. Store airtight.
