Rum Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup light cream (1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup heavy cream)
  • 2 tbsp light rum

Preparation

Step 1

In a sauce pan over medium heat, mix sugar, butter and cream.

Bring to a boil; stirring constantly.

Boil briskly for 3 minutes or until sauce thickens.

Remove from heat, set aside for 3 minutes and then stir in rum. Serve warm or cold.

Makes about 1 cup--enough for 6 servings.

Serve with fresh cut fruit.
