Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 bottle red food coloring
  • 1 t. vanilla extract
  • Vanilla cream cheese frosting
  • 1/2 pgk. cream cheese softened
  • 2 T. butter, softened
  • 1 T. sour cream
  • 1 t. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 box (16 oz.) confectioners' sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat over 350.
Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in bowl and set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Mix in sour cream, milk, food color and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture o n low speed until just blended. Do not overbeat. Spoon batter into 30 paper lined muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full.

Bake 20 - 25 min or until toothpick inserted into cupcake comes out clean. Cool in pans in wire rack 5 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely. Frost and serve!
