Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unbleached flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetnened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1 large egg + 1 lare egg white
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350°. Coat 8" or 9" baking pan with cooking spray.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Combine brown sugar, oil egg and egg white, and vanilla in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth. Pour into the flour mixture and stir until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts (the batter will be stiff).
Spread the batter in a thin layer in the prepared pan. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until firm at the edges and a wooden toothpick inserted off center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Place pan on a cooling rack and let cool completley. Cut into 8 bars.
