  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup paked brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp each: grated lemon rind and juice
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter. melted

Step 1

In bowl combine flour, sugar and nutmeg, drizzle with butter, tossing to moisten. Set aside

In separate bowl, beat butter with sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs and lemon rind and juice. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture alternately with yogurt, making 2 additions of dry ingredeients and 1 of yogurt. Scrape into parchment paper-lined 9 " square metal cake pan. Sprinkle with blueberries and topping

Bake 350F until tester inserted in centre comes out clean, about 50 minutes
Let cool on rack
