Oatmeal Apple Carmelitas

  • Crust ingredients 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 1 /2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 /2 tsp salt
  • 1 1 /4 cup softened butter
  • Filling
  • 12 oz jar of caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 Tblsp. flour
  • 2 apples sliced thinly
  • 2 cups cinnamon chips 1 /2 cup pecans



Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, blend all crust ingredients at low speed until crumbly. Press about 3 cups of mixture into bottom of pan and bake for 10 minutes. Reserve the remaining crumb mixture for topping. Meanwhile in a small bowl combine caramel and flour. Set aside
Sprinkle warm crust with sliced apples. Mix caramel, cinnamon chips and nuts. Pour over apples and sprinkle on remaining crumb mixture. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or golden brown. Cool completely.
