Chicken and Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 Chicken breasts
  • onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 T. flour
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • poultry seasonings
  • 1 pt. of half and half
  • flour tortills

Preparation

Step 1

Boil chicken breasts, add an onion, a couple of garlic cloves, some pepper corns, and some salt. Cook for about an hour. Remove the chicken and set aside to cool. Pour the broth into the blender, add the flour and poultry seasonings, and salt and pepper to taste. Blend until smooth.

Pour gravy mixture into a dutch oven and add the half and half, heat over medium heat. Cut a couple of tortillas into strips. Add the chicken and the tortilla strips and heat for about 30 min.

Make a bed of mash potatoes and pour the chicken gravy mixture of the potatoes.
