Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced diagonally 1 inch thick
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

1.Butter an 8-inch square baking pan and layer the bread in two layers. In a blender or food processor, mix together the remaining ingredients and slowly pour the mixture over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

2.Preheat oven to 350° F. To make the topping: In a medium-sized bowl, mix together in order all of the ingredients. Spread the topping over the chilled bread slices and bake, uncovered, for 1 hour.
