Sour Cream Pastry Crust for Pot Pie

This pastry pairs very well with the flavors of vegetable fillings. Makes enough dough nor 1 double crust pie.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) chilled, unsalted butter, in 1/2 inch slices
  • 1 cup sour cream

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in the butter until it resembles very coarse crumbs. Stir in the sour cream to make a stiff pastry. Wrap and chill the dough about 30 minutes.
