Ingredients

  • 12 corn bread muffins, crumbled
  • 9 slices bread, crumbled
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 3 T. butter, melted
  • 1/2 to 3/4 lbs. pork sausage
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 t. pepper
  • 1/4 t. ground sage

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Soak cornbread and sandwich bread in chicken broth and water about 10 minutes. Stir until liquid is absorbed.

Saute onion and celery in butter until tender. Puree onion and celery mixture. Set aside.

Cook sausage over low heat until browned. Add onion and celery puree to sausage. Add sausage mixture, eggs and seasonings to bread. Spoon mixture into lightly greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake for one hour or until lightly browned.
