Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano or basil or cracked rosemary (optional)
  • 1 (12oz) bottle beer at room temperature
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and herbs. Add the beer and stir until blended. Put in a lightly greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour. Combine the butter and garlic and pour the mixture over the top. Allow the bread to rest in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes.
