Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 1 c butter
- 1 c Dr Pepper
- 2 c flour
- 2 c sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 bag of chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup butter
- 6 TBS. Dr. Pepper
- 3 TBS. cocoa
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Heat the butter and Dr Pepper until melted. Don’t boil it.
In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix together the buttermilk, baking soda, chocolate chips, and vanilla.
Pour the buttermilk mixture into the dry mixture.
And stir together.
Add the Dr Pepper mixture and mix well.
Bake in a greased 18 x 12 inch baking dish for 25-30 minutes.
Frosting: Bring to boil butter/Dr. Pepper and cocoa. Add powdered sugar and take off heat. Add nuts. Spread on warm cake and cut into squares when completely cool. YUMMO!!!
