Melanie's almond cookie

Ingredients

• 3 cups butter, softened
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 t. almond, ext
• 2 cup flour
• 1/2 t. baking powder
• 1/4 t. salt
• 1 1/2 cup conf. sugar
• 1 t. almond ext
• 4-5 t. water
• sliced almonds

Preparation

Step 1

400*combine butter, sugar almond in large bowl.. mix on med speed, scraping often, until creamy..1-2 min.
reduce speed to low, add remaing cookie ingred. beat til well mixed..
roll dough into 1 inch balls, place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.. flatten balls to 1/4 inch tichk, with the bottom of buttered glass dipped in sugar..
bake 7-9 min.or edges are very lightly browned..cool 1 min ..remove from cookie sheet..cool completely..

stir together glaze mix with wire whisk.. frost cookies and add almonds
