Sausage filled Breakfast Pastries

By

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage
  • salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 2 [8] count cans of biscuits
  • 1/4 tsp. of garlic powder
  • 1 8 oz.softened Neufchatel cheese
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 Tbs. of Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp. of worcestershire
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh chives

Preparation

Step 1

Brown the sausage in a skillet until the pink no longer remains. Mix in the softened Neufchatel cheese, Dijon mustard, fresh chives, worcestershire, garlic powder, and salt & pepper to taste. Warm together just until the cheese melts and is mixed through completely. Place into an airtight container [Lock-and-Lock of course!] and chill. When you're ready to prepare the pastries, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment. Cut the biscuits in half through the middle, and flatten each piece into a 3 inch circle. Place a heaping teaspoon of the sausage mixture into the middle, fold over and seal the edges with a fork or pastry wheel. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and bake for 14-15 minutes. Serve hot with addtional Dijon for dipping! Enjoy!
