Yankee Cheddar Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 pound round steak, 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • All purpose oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut steak in four pieces. Combine flour, salt and pepper; pound into steak. Brown in oil. Place in 12 x 8-inch baking dish; cover with onion and combined tomato sauce and garlic salt. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese; return to oven until cheese melts.
