Vegetables: Sesame Green Beans

  • 1-1/2 lbs. fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 1 tbls. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. dark sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 Tbls. toasted sesame seeds (handful)
  • Coarse salt



Step 1

Steam green beans covered in ½ inch boiling water for 2 minutes. Transfer to colander and run under cold water. Drain well.

Heat skillet or wok over high heat. Go once-around-the-pan with the vegetable oil, add several drops of sesame oil and crushed pepper flakes. The pan will smoke. Add beans and stir fry for 2 minutes. Add sesame seeds and coarse salt and toss to coat beans evenly.
