Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. pkg. spaghetti, broken into 2 in. pieces
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/3 c. parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 4 oz. mozzarella, shredded
  • 1 15 1/2 oz. jar spaghetti sauce

Step 1

Cook and drain spaghetti. Put in 9x13 baking dish. Stir in butter, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and egg until thoroughly combined. Saute chuck and onion in oil in large skillet. Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti layer and top with meat mixture. Bake 350-30 minutes. Sprinkle mozzarella and bake 10 more minutes or until melted. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
