SWEET TANGY SLOPPY JOES

Ingredients

  • 2 TBSP BUTTER
  • 2 1/2 LB GROUND BEEF
  • 1 LARGE RED ONION DICED
  • 1 LARGE GREEN PEPPER DICED
  • 5 CLOVES GARLIC MINCED
  • 1 1/2 CUP KETCHUP
  • 2 TBSP BROWN SUGAR
  • 2 TSP CHILI POWDER ( I USE CALIFORNIA CHILI POWDER )
  • 1 TBSP GROUND MUSTARD
  • 1/2 TSP RED PEPPER FLAKES
  • 1 TSP WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
  • 2 TBSP TOMATO PASTE ( OPTIONAL )
  • TABASCO ( TO TASTE AND OPTIONAL )
  • GROUND BLACK PEPPER TO TASTE
  • 1/2 -1 CUP APPLE CIDER OR AS NEEDED

Preparation

Step 1

ADD BUTTER INTO LARGE SKILLET AND MELT, SAUTÉ ONIONS, GARLIC AND BELL PEPPER.

ADD IN GROUND BEEF, BROWN AND REMOVE EXCESSIVE FAT, DISCARD.

ADD IN KETCHUP, BROWN SUGAR, CHILI POWDER, MUSTARD, PEPPER FLAKES, WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE MIX THOROUGHLY

ADD IN APPLE CIDER AND LET SIMMER AND THICKEN, IF YOU LIKE A DEEPER TOMATO TASTE ADD IN TOMATO PASTE AS DESIRED,
